\nDear fellow Vokkaliga members,<\/p>\n

\nWe are very pleased and honored to extend to you all a very hearty welcome to the Vokkaligara Parishat of America, 14th<\/sup> Convention! On behalf of VPA-West chapter, and San Francisco Bay Area members in particular, we wish to convey our excitement to play hosts to members from across the country, and beyond.<\/p>\n

\n The Convention has been planned for Thursday, July 2nd<\/sup> \u2013 Saturday, July 4th<\/sup><\/span> of this year, so all can enjoy the warm California Sun over our National Independence Day weekend! We would like to take you all to our beautiful state capital Sacramento, the Farm-to-Fork Capital of America!<\/em><\/strong> Befitting the Vokkaligara Convention! Seventy percent of the Sacramento region\u2019s land is agriculture, forest or open space, creating a large amount of farming opportunity.<\/p>\n

\nLocated at the foothills of the Sierra mountain range, and at the confluence of the gorgeous Sacramento and American Rivers, we will be only a few hours\u2019 drive from several renowned attractions. From the ski and recreation areas of Lake Tahoe, the granite domes of Yosemite, the Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco, and the wine country of Napa!<\/p>\n

\nAs VPA Convention tradition would have it, this is a biennial ritual of networking and bonding with fellow Gowdathis and Gowdas, over exquisite, \u201cjust like mom\u2019s\u201d khara and sihi ootas<\/em> day-in and day-out. All this in between magnificent entertainment from local, and national artists, in addition to awe-inspiring \u201cback home\u201d professional artists from Karnataka!<\/p>\n

\nAmidst all these festivities of course, our roots, our culture will be on vibrant display in every person\u2019s walk, and talk! Reminiscent of each ones younger days. Let us impart the riches of our culture to our younger generations and inspire them to reach newer highs!<\/p>\n

\nWe await with open arms to welcome you all to the 2015 Vokkaligara Parishat of America Convention!!
