ವೈಭವಲೋಕ (Magnificent World)
ಒಕ್ಕಲಿಗರ ಕಲೆ, ಬೆಳೆ…
“ಹಳ್ಳಿ” mirrors true spirit of Vokkaliga. Let’s recreate the atmosphere that showcases the life, art and culture of our
villages. Programs can be a grand exhibition of lifestyle, background from our home towns/districts that resonate the true colors of our heritage. Bring in folk music to dramas that highlights the styles, traditions and customs of our villages.
ಪ್ರೇಮಲೋಕ (Love World)
ಬನ್ನಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹಂಚೋಣ…
There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved!… Let’s rejoice happiness, celebrate life and indulge in passion of love. Programs in this segment can comprise of dances, songs and performances, outpouring joy, fun, laughter and frolic in the air. Themes can portray friendship, affection, emotion and attraction, across generations.
ವಿಸ್ಮಯಲೋಕ (Magical World)
ಕಾಮನ ಬಿಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಲರವ…
Vokkaligas life has traversed from soil to the land of opportunities. Our culture nourishes and strengthens this community. We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves to embrace diversity. Let’s share the stage from Kathak to karaoke, Carnatic to comedy, and musicals to masala.
ಮಜಾ ಟಾಕೀಸು (Fun Theatre)
ತಾರಾ ಲೋಕ…
Bring out the star in you!… Requesting for a call sheet to direct/act/sing/dance to your heart’s content for “ಮಜಾ ಟಾಕೀಸು” productions. Indulge audience with upbeat performances on any film quotient with
limitless possibilities from Sandalwood songs to Hollywood hoedown. Programs based on the outlines of any movie / movie actors are entertained under this segment. Pen down your scripts that leave audience with sweet after taste of popping popcorns.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM
THE VPA ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE WELCOMES THE PARTICIPATION FROM ALL VOKKALIGAS TO TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE IN THE 2015 CONVENTION PROGRAMS. OUR AIM IS TO BRING OUT THE RICH KARNATAKA AND VOKKALIGA CULTURE AND HERITAGE TO A CREATIVE PRESENTATION WITH ALL ITS DIVERSITIES. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS WE HAVE OUTLINED THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES
- It is mandatory that all participants, artists and choreographers be registered at the VPA Convention
- The participants have to provide their own costumes, props and other requirements for their presentations
- The participating group will be in charge of setting up and clearing the stage after their performance
- All decisions of the Entertainment Committee are final
- Video/Audio Clippings and Scripts will not be returned

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DANCE PROGRAM

Group performances, i.e., dances involving multiple cast members, members from another chapter(s) are encouraged and given preference. Performances by individuals will be considered if they are part of a group program/theme. The duration of each item to be 10 minutes, exceptions will be made on a case by case basis.
Materials Required for Submission: In addition to the Entry Form, the following must be submitted:- A video of the proposed dance, preferably in costume. If not available, video of a rehearsal may be submitted. ( home video quality will be acceptable)
- Artists’ profile
- If available, reviews of proposed or past performances, media coverage, photographs etc. are encouraged for submission
All materials submitted, including the videotape will not be returned.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR MUSIC PROGRAM
Folk Songs, Sugama Sangeetha, Classical Songs, Orchestra, Group Songs, Film Songs and Vocal and Instrumental will be considered for the convention.
- Folk songs, Bhavageethas, group songs, Lavanees and film songs, and all instrumental music will be considered for the convention
- No Individual performances (vocal/instrumental) is permitted unless it is part of a group program. Selection is at the discretion of the VPA 2015 Entertainment Committee and their decisions are final.
- Duration for a group of 2 to 6 persons is limited to 10 minutes
- Duration for a group of 6 or more is limited to 15 minutes
- Kannada songs / Group songs are preferred
- Your own arrangements for accompaniments is highly encouraged

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DRAMA
CATEGORIES AND DURATION DRAMAS MAY BE SUBMITTED IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES
- COMEDY
- SOCIAL
- CONTEMPORARY
- MYSTERY
- HISTORICAL
Group performances, i.e., dramas involving multiple cast members, members from another chapter(s) are encouraged and given preference. Performances by individuals (mono-acting) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Note: High caliber dramas will be given preference- All dramas must be in Kannada, English, or a combination there of.
- Duration: Performances are limited to a maximum of 40 minutes. Skits may not exceed durations of 20 minutes. Selection of dramas is at the discretion of the VPA 2015 Entertainment Committee and their decisions are final.
- Materials Required for Submission: In addition to the Entry Form, the following must be submitted:
- A video of the proposed play, preferably in costume. If not available, video of a rehearsal may be submitted
- Director’s profile
- Artists’ profile
- If available, reviews of proposed or past performances, media coverage, photographs etc are encouraged for submission.
Note: Simple stage settings are encouraged. Participants are responsible for bringing their own costumes, stage props and managing them during the event
All materials submitted, including the video clips/scripts will not be returned. Upon receipt of the completed form and supporting materials, an email acknowledgment will be sent to the participants.
